Reptile Recovery Toolkit

As a part of QMDC's Brigalow Belt Reptile Recovery Plan activities, a toolkit has been developed to help raise awareness about the 16 recovery species, where they can be found, and how we can help preserve their declining numbers.

The toolkit was launched on 4 October by Dalby Regional Council Mayor, Ray Brown, as part of the Myall Park Botanic Garden Reptile Workshop.

You can download part one and part two of the whole kit, or view each species fact sheet.

New weapon in the fight on ferals

Goondiwindi local, Nathan Stephenson, has joined QMDC to help in the fight against feral animals.

"Ferals, especially pigs, are big problems in this region, from an environmental perspective, and a production one," said Border Rivers Catchment Coordinator, Julia Telford. "So we're particularly glad to have Nathan working with us, and he'll be coordinating an extensive feral animal control program we've just begun."
