Fire and Biodiversity Forum - Tooloombilla

Where: Rodeo Grounds

This forum is the culmination of two major projects in the Maranoa:

  • QMDC’s Fire Project (Landscape Fire Planning for Poplar Box Grassy Woodlands)
  • Mitchell and District Landcare Association Biodiversity Project

QMDC and EcoRich Grazing invite you to join project leaders, agencies, scientists and landholders to reflect on five years of research and learning about fire use and biodiversity against production and landscape health in the Maranoa.

 Guest Speakers:

  • Dr Garry Cook - Senior Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences in Darwin.
  • Dr Samantha Lloyd from the South East Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Symposium
  • QMDC Climate Change Officer Rhonda Toms-Morgan
  • EcoRich Grazing Director Col Paton
  • Queensland Rural Fire Service
  • Queensland Herbarium
  • Key landholders whose properties provided monitoring sites for the projects.

This forum will examine findings and explore the way forward beyond the life of these two important projects.
