Wallangarra rabbit workshop & warren ripping demonstration
Are rabbits eating away your profits or gardens? To maximise the impact of the latest national rabbit control effort – the release of the K5 virus – the Queensland Murray-Darling Committee (QMDC) and Southern Downs Regional Council are holding a workshop on how to carry out warren ripping and effective rabbit control.
The free event (RSVPs essential for catering) will be held on Friday, May 5 from 10am to 12.30pm, at the corner of Mcmeniman Lane and Paling Yard Road.
Guest speakers include Darling Downs Moreton Rabbit Board’s Dr David Berman, Biosecurity Queensland’s Dr Peter Elsworth, Southern Downs Regional Council’s Craig Magnussen and QMDC’s Vanessa Macdonald.
The workshop will cover: getting into the mind of a rabbit, how to identify where rabbits are breeding, control techniques, a warren ripping demonstration, incentives offered, and legal obligations for landholders.
Please RSVP by May 3 (barbecue lunch provided) to QMDC’s Vanessa Macdonald on 0428 712 955 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This project is supported by QMDC through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme and the Queensland Government State Regional NRM Investment Program. The Queensland Government is committed to the productive and responsible use of the State’s natural resources.
QMDC is a natural resource management organisation that supports communities within the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin to sustainably manage their natural resources.
