We work closely with, and support, a number of Landcare groups based in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin.

We engage with Landcare through our Sub-Catchment Planning program as well as workshops and events - with 160 Landcare groups in total in our region.

To find a Landcare group near you visit the QWALC site. Or view the list of regional Landcare offices we currently support here.

Regional Landcare Facilitator

QMDC also hosts a Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) who works as part of our team to advocate the Landcare ethos and support community Landcare projects through an advisory role.

Our RLF liaises with the community and extends information through a variety of workshops ranging from 'Pasture to Profit' to how to apply for a grants and social media skills. You can check our calendar of events for upcoming workshops.

You can view 'Outback Landcare in Action' - an RLF video case study on a Mitchell grazing family's journey to owning their own property on our Youtube site.

The Regional Landcare Facilitator Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Agriculture. The position is supported by QMDC through funding from the Australian Government's National Landcare Programme.
