QMDC Reconciliation Action Plan - Innovate

QMDC has recognised a Reconciliation Action Plan was required for our organisation to build on our extensive history of working with the region’s Traditional Owners on landscapes, waterways and sites of cultural significance.

We have a responsibility to promote the importance of reconciliation within our organisation and the wider community, having a high percentage of Aboriginal employees and a continuing involvement with Traditional Owner groups of the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin.

We consult closely with the Kambuwal, Bigumbal, Kamilaroi, Kooma, Bidjara, Gungarri and Mandandanji peoples each of whom have representation on our Regional Aboriginal Advisory Group, and this plan is the next step forward.

The QMDC Reconciliation Action Plan Innovate has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and was launched in Goondiwindi on 1 March 2018.  It contains actions and targets that will measure our commitment to reconciliation across the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin and will be updated each year.
